How
does a modular home differ from a "mobile” home?
Modular homes as built by Elite Custom Home Builders are built
to the same state and local building codes and standards as stick-built
or site-built homes. And in many cases, the design and construction
standards that
we utilize exceed those used by site builders. Some people in
the industry refer to modular homes as “off-frame.” This
simply means that the home is affixed to a standard footing and
foundation system (either a crawlspace or a basement) as opposed
to a steel chassis. [back to top]
Why Should I Buy a Modular Home?
Protection from the Elements
Have you ever driven past a partially constructed, site-built
home on a rainy day? Have you thought about what is happening
to the wood and other materials as the water covers them? Warping,
separation, saturation, mold and mildew are just a few of the
risks that one might incur while building a home in a “traditional” manner.
All of our lumber is stored in the protective environment of
a world-class manufacturing facility alongside all of the other
materials and components that will be used in the construction
of your home.
Design
A team of highly qualified design engineers and computer aided
drafting technicians generates all of Ritz-Craft's home designs.
Regardless of style - ranch, cape, or two-story, you can be assured
that every aspect of your home has been meticulously reviewed
from an engineering perspective. Elite Custom Home Builders offers
its customers a tremendous amount of flexibility in both design
and scope. Hundreds of options are available for every room of
your house. If you have a custom plan, we can work with that
as well.
Timeframe
In many cases, a modular home as constructed by Elite Custom
Home Builders can be built in about half of the time required
to build a comparably sized and equipped site built home. Streamlined
production processes and protection from weather hindrances help
to facilitate a quick production cycle. Further, factory preparations
for electrical and mechanical systems combined with our professional
and efficient management of site trades allows us to expeditiously
complete your project. [back to top]

Are the homes covered by a warranty?
Yes. Every home comes with a full one year warranty. We work
hand in hand with Ritz-Craft’s dedicated service department
to provide professional, after-the-sale service. In addition,
many of the brand name components, such as appliances, shingles
and siding used in your home, are covered by their own manufacturer’s
warranties. We warrant that your home will be of good quality
and free from defects in workmanship and material for one year
from the date of the certificate of occupancy.
We will walk through your home with you no less than four times.
The first walk-through opportunity occurs just after the modules
are delivered to your site. The second walk-through occurs
just before you move into the home. The third inspection
occurs just after you move in. And the fourth inspection
occurs on the first anniversary of your move-in date. At
these inspections, we will examine every aspect of your home,
and we will address each concern to your satisfaction. Of
course, we strive to deliver the highest quality during the construction
process. But in the event that you experience problems,
be assured that we will be there for you to address these issues. [back

How do I finance a modular home?
Mortgage lenders finance modular homes as they do stick-built
homes and offer the same mortgage options. Additionally, appraisers
and insurers view modular homes in a similar manner. Generally,
the value of your modular home will appreciate in value at the
same rate as comparably equipped site built homes in your area.
