The right builder will provide you with quality construction and excellent customer service.  You may want to check for references and ask questions about the background of the company.  Ask the builder what his process is for building a new home and how long it will take from the time you place an order until the home is completed.  Some builders have limited ability to allow changes to floor plans and may have limited option choices as well.  While meeting with the builder, find out if you can make changes to floor plans and take a look at the available options to be sure you can find everything that you are looking for in your new home.  You might also inquire into warranties provided on a finished home.
